Don’t Miss The James Museum at the 13th Annual Localtopia

Are you going to Localtopia this year?

A colorful Valentine's Day card featuring a cartoon frog with a cowboy hat in a desert background with the words "Do you like me?" and checkboxes next to "yes, definitely, absotootly."
An example of one of our valentines.

If you live in St. Pete, you’ve probably heard of Localtopia. It’s an annual “Community Celebration of All Things Local” organized by Keep St. Pete Local, showcasing over 300 independent businesses and community organizations. It’s more than a festival, it’s a (local) vibe!

The James Museum has participated in Localtopia for the last few years, and it’s always a joy to meet so many people! Over the years we’ve done friendship bracelets, tattoos, but this year we’re doing something even different: valentines.

Since Localtopia falls on Valentine’s Day this year, we decided our activity should be Western-themed valentine cards, obviously. You can either pick one of the four designs and color them, or you can go for an even more hands-on approach by making your own. Whichever option you choose, you’ll get the chance to make them truly your own with lace, stamps, and even collage.

Can’t wait until Saturday? You can download the designs and print them at home to decorate. If you do, take a picture and let us know on social media! We always love seeing your art.

Localtopia will take place on Saturday, February 14, in Williams Park (just a few blocks west of the museum!) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keep an eye out for The James Museum’s tent near the American Stage building!
