Let’s begin with the land. From colorful canyons to vast prairies, majestic landscape paintings of the American West provide a foundation for your museum journey. In this first gallery, you will find paintings by Curt Walters, Wilson Hurley and Tony Abeyta (Navajo). You will also be greeted by a series of sculptural interpretations of 1800s Indigenous leaders by contemporary artist John Coleman. Throughout the museum galleries, the lands of the West link together stories of people and cultures.
