Visitors Will Learn About Alaska Native Culture and Values Through This Epic Journey Through Frozen Tundra

March 19, 2026 – St. Petersburg, FL – The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art has something new for visitors to explore: a video game. Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) is an award-winning puzzle platformer that follows the epic journey of an Iñupiaq girl named Nuna and her companion Fox as they try to save their home from an eternal blizzard. Developed by E-Line Media in collaboration with the Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC), an Alaska Native social service organization, Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) aims to share, celebrate and extend Alaska Native culture. This pop-up exhibition opened March 14 and will be on view through June 25. 

The story of Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) is based on the traditional Iñupiaq tale, “Kunuuksaayuka.” The story has been shared across the generations and is narrated entirely in the spoken Iñupiaq language. Guests will be able to explore awe-inspiring environments, perform heroic deeds and meet legendary characters from Iñupiaq stories. They will also unlock video interviews with Alaska Native community members and elders, providing insight into Iñupiaq culture. 

The version of Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) presented at The James Museum has been specially condensed for display. Lasting about 10 minutes, this version will give players an overview of the story and game mechanics. No experience is necessary to enjoy.
