“Our Mr. Matsura” is a feature documentary that explores the remarkable life and work of Frank Matsura, a Japanese immigrant photographer who made his home in rural Washington State in the early 1900s. Through his lens, Matsura captured a vibrant and diverse community of Native people, ranchers, miners, homesteaders, and small-town residents, creating more than 4,000 photographs that challenge traditional narratives of the American West.
