Young Benjamin Shreve recounts a harrowing journey across Texas in 1878 when he tried to help a woman fleeing her cruel husband and his family. This sequel to The Which Way Tree features heart-stopping moments and a cursed treasure. The villains are based on a real gang that terrorized Black citizens during Reconstruction. Author Elizabeth Crook will appear via Zoom.
