Strong Dakota women preserved seeds that nourished their families through generations, even sewing them into the hems of their garments when forced from their land. Dakota novelist Diane Wilson tells the women’s stories of tragedy and triumph and those of the white families now on that land, struggling to survive in the age of agribusiness.
