“Oak Flat: A Fight for Sacred Land in the American West” | Lauren Redniss

The San Carlos Apache tribe fights to keep copper mining from destroying one of its most sacred places, Arizona’s Oak Flat. Lauren Redniss takes us there through the eyes of families on both sides of this classic conflict between preservation and commercialization. The author, who illustrated the book with colorful pastel drawings, will appear via Zoom.

Join us for coffee, camaraderie, and a great discussion led by docent Helen Huntley.
