Lakota Woman | Mary (Brave Bird) Crow Dog with Richard Erdoes
Mary Crow Dog grew up dirt poor on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, rebelled against the treatment of students at St. Francis Indian Boarding School, then drank, fought, and stole to survive. Joining the 1973 occupation of Wounded Knee, she gave birth under a hail of bullets and found a purpose in life, fighting for justice for Indians. Join us for coffee, camaraderie, and a great discussion of this unsparing memoir led by docent Helen Huntley.
