Pipestone: My Life in an Indian Boarding School | Adam Fortunate Eagle
Life at Pipestone included hard physical labor, not enough to eat, freezing temperatures in the dorms, corporal punishment, and substandard medical care. Yet for Adam Fortunate Eagle (Ojibwe), it was home, providing security, education, and adventures. He became a leader of the 1969-71 occupation of Alcatraz and a sculptor whose work is in The James Museum. Join us for coffee, camaraderie, and a great discussion led by docent Helen Huntley.
