Take a 400-mile journey through the Old West along with 72-year-old Capt. Jefferson Kidd, and Johanna, his 10-year-old companion. The Kiowa killed the girl’s family four years prior and took her captive. Now they’ve given her back in exchange for 15 blankets and a set of silver dinnerware. Facing the perils of 1870 Texas, the two form a bond even though Johanna now considers herself Kiowa and doesn’t speak English. Come for coffee and discussion led by Helen Huntley. Space is limited.
