Things To Know

Grade Levels

School tours are offered for PK4 through 12th grade students. All tours are led by knowledgeable docents. You may register for age- and benchmark-specific programs.  Homeschool and other youth groups may take advantage of the tour selections offered, or work with the museum staff to modify an existing tour to meet the group’s needs.

Field Trip Admission

Students: $4
Teachers and chaperones (1 adult per 10 students): free
Additional adults: $15


The minimum booking for a school tour is 10 students. Our galleries are best viewed by 3 classes at a time. If your group is larger than 70 students, please call the education department at 727.892.4200 ext. 1016.

Field Trip Length

PK4 – 1st grade visits: 60 minutes in the galleries
2nd – 12th grade visits: 90 minutes in the galleries
Please allow extra time for arrival, check-in, and lunch.

Please use the “Request a Tour” button to access the online booking form.  We will notify you as soon as possible if we are unable to accommodate your group on the date(s) you requested, and work with you to schedule your visit for an alternate date.

A $50.00 deposit is required to reserve your date.  Credit cards and checks are accepted.

Final Payment

Please notify us of your final count two days prior to your tour date. Final payment is due on the day of the tour.  You may pay by credit card or check.  Please go to the Museum store by the front entrance to make your payment.


Your school tour is confirmed when you receive email confirmation from the education department. Your confirmation email will include student pre- and post-planning activities, directions to the museum, and bus parking instructions.


Walk to a nearby green space to enjoy your lunch.  Bring bag lunches, or order boxed lunches from the museum’s Canyon Café.  Please allow an extra 30 minutes for lunch.

Individual vehicles (height limit of 6’10”) may park in the city garage located above the museum for a $2 hourly rate. The garage entrance is on the back of our building, on 1st Ave South. Metered street parking is also available in the vicinity.


Buses may pull up to the museum’s front entrance at 150 Central Ave. to allow students to disembark. We will provide directions to an offsite parking lot upon arrival.


If you need to cancel your tour reservation, please do so in writing. Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel no less than 30 days prior to your tour date. Or you may reschedule your visit based on museum availability.
