This documentary series explores the revival of traditional Indigenous tattooing practices around the world. Each episode dives into a unique Indigenous culture to discover the artists’ tools, techniques, symbols and traditions that shape their tattooing art.

“Skindigenous Season 2, Episode: Kahnawake”
In this episode, Kanen’tó:kon Hemlock of the Mohawk Nation at Kahnawà:ke invites us to witness the first tattooing in a longhouse in roughly 300 years.

“Skindigenous Season 2, Episode: New Mexico”
Stephanie Big Eagle is a traditional hand-poke tattoo artist based in New Mexico who uses her art to empower, protect the spirit, and honor Indigenous heritage.

“Skindigenous Season 2, Episode: New Zealand”
Julie Paama-Pengelly is a veteran in the revitalization of tā moko Māori tattooing and one of the first women to practice in the male-dominated field.
