Revisit old favorites or discover a movie new to you through this program that explores film as both an artform and entertainment.

The story of St. Petersburg’s Gas Plant Neighborhood follows a narrative of community displacement that has been repeated throughout our country for the sake of “progress.” At the core of this film are the first-hand stories and memories from a community cut short, presented in a historical context that is rarely accessible to the public. Razed enshrines the oral histories of 20 former Gas Plant residents and features three local historians. The film cautions us to consider the true cost of development and encourages us to imagine a better way forward. Director and producer Andrew Lee will join us for a post-screening discussion and Q&A about making this salient film.
