Led by anthropologist Dr. Gabrielle Vail, this workshop focuses on the Hopi and other Pueblo cultures of the Southwestern U.S. Join her for a discussion of topics such as history, worldview, origins, the importance of the natural world and the world of spirits, and contemporary issues facing Hopi peoples. Guided by Dr. Vail, participants explore these themes as represented in artworks in the James Museum’s collection, and in contemporary literature by Pueblo authors.
